Here it will be useful to know what firmware version you are on and what firmware version you are trying to upgrade to? Also are you connecting USB adapter directly to native USB port or via USB Docking station or splitter? Have you tried using another PC or adding exception for HUB in your security software/firewall when it tries to access Poly (formerly Plantronics) update servers? You can refer to this KB link and try whitelisting shared url's and test update again and share feedback if possible.
